Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Exams

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts various exams to recruit candidates for different positions in Indian Railways.

Types of Railway Exams

  • RRB NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories): Junior Clerk, Typist, Traffic Assistant, etc.
  • RRB Group D: Track Maintainer, Assistant Pointsman, Helper.
  • RRB ALP & Technician: Assistant Loco Pilot, Technicians.
  • RRB JE (Junior Engineer): JE, DMS, CMA.
  • RRB Paramedical Staff: Staff Nurse, Pharmacist, Lab Assistant.
  • RRB Ministerial & Isolated Categories: Stenographer, Junior Translator, Chief Law Assistant.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

  • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Indian History, Geography, Economy.
  • Mathematics: Algebra, Geometry, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: Coding-Decoding, Syllogism, Decision Making.
  • Technical Subjects: For ALP, JE, and Technician posts.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Group D

  • Male: Run 100 meters in 4 minutes, carry 35 kg weight for 100 meters.
  • Female: Run 100 meters in 5 minutes, carry 20 kg weight for 100 meters.

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (for Group D)
  3. Typing/Skill Test (if applicable)
  4. Document Verification
  5. Medical Examination
